It is a Good source of protein. Paneer also has calcium apart from protein. This helps in building stronger teeth and bones (to a certain extent). Though it is a milk product, it is better than milk when it comes to nutrition.

Category: Main Course
Serves: 2
Ingredients:
200 grams paneer (cottage cheese)
2 tbsp butter
2 onion
2 tomatoes
8-10 cashews
4 dry red chilli
¼ tsp kashmiri mirch
½ tsp garam masala
¼ tsp Kasuri methi (optional)
Salt to taste
Instruction:
- Heat 1 tbsp of oil in a pan on medium heat. Once the oil is hot, add the onion and stir fry until the colour changes.
- Now add the chopped tomato and fry again for a minute. Then add the cashews and dry red chillies and add 2 pinch of salt.
- Cook for 5 minutes on a medium heat.
- Let the mixture cool down a bit and then transfer to a blender. It’s important to let it cool down a bit else it will all blow up from the mixer. Grind the masala to a smooth paste and set aside.
- To the same pan now add 2 tablespoons butter on medium heat.
-Once the butter melts, add the Kashmiri mirch powder and fry for a few seconds. This will give the curry a nice orange-red color.
- Make sure you do not burn the red chilli powder.
- Then add the tomato onion paste back into the pan along with the garam masala.
- Add ½ cup of water as per the consistency required.
- Now add the paneer cubes and stir well and cook for 10 minutes on medium heat.
- At the end add the salt to taste and kasuri methi (optional).
- Garnish paneer butter masala with cilantro (coriander leaves) and cream serve hot with naan, chapati or rice!!
Happy Cooking!!!
